This comprehensive workshop encompasses the vital aspects of writing a strong and competitive grant proposal. Participants will be provided opportunities to write grant sections or create an organizational boilerplate for later use by completing commonly requested grant sections including: community overview; organizational history; organizational structure; capacity and capability; needs assessment; problem statement and SMART objectives; inclusivity and engagement, disparities, and cultural competence; intervention implementation; and monitoring and evaluation frameworks and indicators.

This workshop explores how reviewers read grants, reasons proposals get rejected, and how to master the technical parts of a grant while still capturing the attention of the reader. This workshop involves self-paced and live virtual instruction as well as feedback on grant sections.

Workshop Elements:

  •  Independent video-guided learning and reflections
  • Q&A Podcast discussing discuss questions, concerns, and comments related to the common challenges of grant writing.
  • Activity to discern between good and great grant writing. 
  • An important part of this course is the act drafting proposal content specific to your organization and goals so participants are expected to write a draft of a common section (e.g., capacity, evaluation). The final aspect is the submission of a section of your choice so that you come away with content that can be tailored to a future grant announcement!

This workshop is eligible for 6 advanced CECH through NCHEC or 6 General CEUs.
