Schools receive an overwhelming number of requests from external agencies including universities, community organizations, and healthcare facilities. Although both entities want what’s best for students, programming needs, implementation plans, and resources don’t always align. The purpose of this presentation is threefold:1) to describe how entities work together to fund school health coordinator positions, 2) to highlight strategies for building successful school partnerships, and 3) to analyze proposals for alignment with best practices.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe the challenges of working across sectors on school-based health/wellness initiatives
  2. Explain strategies and best practices for building and sustaining successful partnerships with schools
  3. Examine new and existing health/wellness proposals for alignment with best practices
